Born in St Angelo dei Lombardi in the Italian
province of Avellino, Chef Sena came to
attending New Utrecht High School in
Brooklyn, Stefano studied culinary arts as an
apprentice at the Alps Restaurant here on Staten
Island under owner/chef Gerard Campitiello.
Upon graduation from high school Stefano
embarked on a 12-month regional Italian cuisine
apprenticeship in Genoa, Italy after which he
continued his education at the highly esteemed
Culinary Institute of America (CIA). Chef Sena
earned his Certified Executive Chef through the
American Culinary Federation (ACF) He has
worked in some of the  highest rated venues
including the Ritz Carlton Hotel (NYC), the
Chanticler (Short Hills, NJ) and has been the
opening chef for several highly-successful
establishments on the Island such as the
Excelsior Grand, the Hilton Garden Inn and
Monte Bianco (Renaissance). He has also served
as a training consultant to Crown Resorts,
Cyprus, Italy. Stefano is married with three
children and resides in Tottenville.
Maria's older brother also came to this country
in 1962 at the age of 13 and with the support of
his family and his unfailing desire to become
an integral part of America, Vincent worked
barrier, and graduated from John Jay High
School in 1967. Starting out as a page and
runner on Wall Street, Vinny worked his way
up to the position of bond trading specialist
while serving in the National Guard for five
years. Vincent, along with his sister and
brother-in-law, opened a delicatessen and
beverage distributorship in the Sunset Park
section of Brooklyn. Forever dreaming of
owning a restaurant, after moving to Staten
Island in 1988, they sold both businesses and
became co-owners of Cafe Del Mondo in
Willowbrook in 1992 and opened a convenience
store. Always the entrepreneur, Vinny jumped
at the chance to purchase Sammy's Steak
House and quickly transformed it into Bocelli
Restaurant and watched his dream blossom
into  reality receiving the coveted four-star
rating from the SI Advance in February 2006.
Born in Moli di Bari. Italy, Maria came to
America with her mother and father and four
siblings in 1962. A graduate of Bay Ridge
High School, Maria worked in the
international branch communication
division of Chemical Bank where she met
and married Nicholas Buonsante. Maria and
Nick, along with her brother and present
partner Vincent opened a delicatessen and
beverage distributorship in the Sunset Park
section of Brooklyn. After moving to Staten
Island in 1982, they sold both businesses
and became co-owners of Cafe Del Mondo in
Willowbrook in 1992 and opened a health
and fitness club and a convenience store.
Subsequently Maria and Vinny purchased
Sammy's Steak House and quickly
transformed it into Bocelli Restaurant where
she manages the behind-the-scenes
operations as well as acting as maitre d' and
handling customer relations. The couple has
two children and reside in Annadale
