MARIA BUONSANTE
Born in Moli di Bari, Italy, Maria came to America with
her mother and father and four siblings in 1962.
A graduate of Bay Ridge High School, Maria worked in the
international branch communication division of Chemical
Bank where she met and married Nicholas Buonsante.
Maria and Nick, along with her brother and present
partner Vincent opened a delicatessen and beverage
distributorship in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn.
After moving to Staten Island in 1982, they sold both
businesses and became co-owners of Cafe Del Mondo in
Willowbrook in 1992 and opened a health and fitness club
and a convenience store.
Subsequently Maria and Vinny purchased Sammy's Steak
House and quickly transformed it into Bocelli Restaurant
where she manages the behind-the-scenes operations as well
as acting as maitre d' and handling customer relations.
The couple has two children and reside in Annadale
